BIW develops and produces high-quality silicone and textile solutions such as hoses, cable protection systems, and electrical insulation sleeves. Quality inspection had previously been highly labor-intensive: many checks were performed visually on light tables or manually during the running process, and an older camera system was reaching its technical limits. This resulted in significant effort and cost — combined with fluctuating inspection reliability.

With the introduction of Maddox AI, inspection was converted to a fully automated 100% quality control system and significantly enhanced in performance. The AI now reliably detects even the smallest defects, such as material flaws, contamination, and air bubbles in hoses, as well as micro-holes in cable protection systems that can impair dielectric strength. Despite high production speeds and demanding live data processing requirements, the solution was deployed into production quickly. As a result, manual inspection effort has been reduced, process reliability has increased, and BIW now gains valuable defect classification data to systematically analyze root causes and proactively prevent future errors.
